The effectiveness of liturgy does not lie in experimenting with rites and altering them over and over, nor in a continuous reductionism, but solely in entering more deeply into the word of God and the mystery being celebrated. It is the presence of these two that authenticates the Church's rites, not what some priest decides, indulging his own preferences.

Palm Sunday Passion Booklet - Free Download
published 12 March 2014 by Andrew R. Motyka

N THE PAST, our gracious hosts here at Corpus Christi Watershed have shared with us some PDFs of Palm Sunday Passion booklets. When looking through my files this year, though, I found that I was missing the Passion for Palm Sunday, Year A (this year).

When I searched this site and asked Jeff Ostrowski, he let me know that that was the one booklet that was never done, so I decided to whip one up. Thanks to the text input by a forum commenter “CGM” on the Musica Sacra Forums, formatting this was fairly easy.

Please download and use this free booklet of the Saint Matthew Passion.

The setup is very easy: simply print the pages, in order, front-to-back on landscape layout 8.5 × 11 paper. Staple it in the middle and fold it in half, and you have an easy-to-use Passion booklet for this year’s St. Matthew Passion. Enjoy.
