PDF Download • “Old Catholic Missal” (1909) … for the Schismatic “See of Utrecht”

Jeff Ostrowski · September 8, 2021

HERLOCK HOLMES used to speak of the brain as a type of “woodshed.” He said he didn’t want to fill up his brain with useless things; only things he felt were important and needed. I confess that I have no interest in the schismatic “See of Utrecht” which broke away from the Catholic Church in the 19th (?) century and currently ordains women as “priests.” I have no desire to fill up my “woodshed” with information about that sect.

However, I find it astonishing that someone could produce and publish a 352-page book like this—at a time when a majority of Americans would not have electricity for another three decades!

Quick Thoughts

Vespers Booklet, 3rd Sunday of Lent
The organ accompaniment I created for the 3rd Sunday of Lent (“Extraordinary Form”) may now be downloaded, if anyone is interested in this.

    Weeping For Joy! (We Hope!)
Listening to this Easter Alleluia—an SATB arrangement I made twenty years ago based on the work of Monsignor Jules Van Nuffel—one of our readers left this comment: “I get tears in my eyes each time I sing to this hymn.” I hope this person is weeping for joy!

    “The Times” mentions CCW
We were mentioned in article in an article by “The Times” (United Kingdom), as you can see here.

Random Quote

“As late as 1834, British society had many restrictions on any person not adhering to the Anglican church. For example, Roman Catholics could not attend a university, serve on a city council, be a member of Parliament, serve in the armed forces, or even serve on a jury.”
