CAME ACROSS a batch of old photos recently and I think our readers would be interested in them. The pictures were taken at an ordination at St. Ignatius Cathedral, Shanghai, in 1985. Seven men were ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Aloysius Jin Luxian. It is believed that this is the first ordination in China since the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). Since the Novus Ordo didn’t make its way into China until the 1990s, this liturgy would have been celebrated in the old rite.
