Having grown up singing in the London Oratory School Schola Cantorum, Wilfrid Jones went on to a choral scholarship at New College, Oxford, where he read music before completing a masters Theology at the University of Birmingham and in Education at Cambridge, where he sang at Sidney Sussex College. He now teaches theology at St Bede’s Inter-Church School in Cambridge and is studying for a PhD in theology at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg, researching the practice and theology liturgical music in the Catholic Church. His PhD studies combine an ethnographic methodology with Post-Liberal theology and New Musicology to describe theologies of liturgical music in practice. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Chartered College of Teaching.
