HANT is beautiful, stunning, transcendent. Yet do we really know how it sounded centuries ago? Can we, by carefully listening, appreciate the differences between the modes?
This new kickstarter project ( website ) hopes to provide an ancient yet novel response to both these questions. Rooted in the work of renowned chant director Wassim Sarweh, this album will present one hymn in each of the eight? modes, in order, sung according to his haunting interpretation of Medieval chant.
