“Ever mindful, therefore, of the basic truth that our Colored Catholic brethren share with us the same spiritual life and destiny, the same membership in the Mystical Body of Christ, the same dependence upon the Word of God, the participation in the Sacraments, especially the Most Holy Eucharist, the same need of moral and social encouragement, let there be no further discrimination or segregation in the pews, at the Communion rail, at the confessional and in parish meetings, just as there will be no segregation in the kingdom of heaven.”

Christmas Midnight Mass is five days away! We have new music to begin learning after Christmas, so let’s take the final challenge. Let’s learn the “Christe” Section of the KYRIE by Palestrina and try to sing it at Midnight Mass! This emphasis is reflected here:

550 chart

Do you understand the chart? Another way to think about it:

100 = Palestrina Kyrie #6995   PLUS “Christe”

60 = O Magnum Mysterium #3792

60 = Cantique de Noël #6800

60 = Canonic Gloria #3610

30 = Mass Propers (Men, Introit — Ladies, Communion)

Please make sure to review the FULL MIDNIGHT MASS LINEUP.

If you don’t see us underneath the Church, we’re in Father’s little Chapel next to the Parking Lot.

Remember we will be in the dark, so you MUST know your music very well. Jo Anne is bringing a tiny light for your binder.

Remember Jeff has to go setup the choir loft at 11:35pm, so we only have an hour to rehearse.

Please TRY YOUR BEST to arrive no later than 10:30pm.

Choose “extra” nice clothing, as a special Christmas gift to our Lord. After Midnight Mass, Father will take a picture with the choir.
