“To treat harmony and rhythm in this matter was a difficult matter. Facing numerous problems both large and small—that arose constantly—we understood that a flawless harmonization of Gregorian chant cannot be created by improvisation, no matter the competence and ability of the organist or harmonist.”
— Mons. Jules Van Nuffel, NOH Preface

FSSP.la Choir Communiqué • 12 August 2016
published 12 August 2016 by Jeff Ostrowski

(1) This coming Sunday (14 August), we will have Rehearsal (5:30pm-6:45pm) but the choir will not sing at Mass.

(2) The next time we sing at Mass will be Sunday, 21 August 2106, and you can review the scheduled pieces.

(3) One reason we will not sing at Mass this coming Sunday is we have a new “season” coming and it’s important that you be rested.

(4) I really want our members to take seriously 21 August, and come prepared to sing at 5:30pm.

(5) I want our new members to attend the 14 August Rehearsal without fail.

(6) If you feel that skipping the Rehearsal on 14 August will help you be rested for 21 August, then feel free to skip.

(7) Here are some pieces you should be working on, in addition to all those listed for 21 August (SEE ABOVE):   Pieces 2 B Working On

(8) Please email me, making it clear you read this Communiqué with understanding—and also letting me know whether you’ll be attending 21 August.

(9) Thank you for all the wonderful work you do!
