With each edition, a book gets better and better.

We are already thinking about the 3rd edition of the Campion Missal. Below are the errors which will be corrected in the 3rd edition (whenever that may be):

Next edition will have huge English with massive initial, but small Latin

Next edition will not have hymns (cf. Brébeuf)

Next edition will not repeat the same words at the beginning of each Gospel (giving them an initial letter) but rather it will go for beautiful variety in these.

  • In the Colossians reading for the Feast of Christ the King, primogenitus omnis creatura should be instead primogenitus omnis creaturAE.

  • Quinquagesima Tract has a comma after lætítia whereas it ought to be a period.

The AVE VERUM CORPUS chant has quilimae at the beginning where it shouldn’t
The ADOREMUS IN AETERNUM at Benediction has the wrong clef. Yuck!

page 366, line 9 of English epistle, insert after “of promise.” the following 2nd sentence of Galatians 3:18 (Douay-Rheims):

But God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Note: (Unless already corrected in the 2nd edition) This inadvertent omission stems back to the Father Lasance missal whose English translations you are following; evidently his eye jumped from one “promise” to the other. All the other old missals I’ve checked include this omitted sentence.
